Client: Domiciliary Care
Issue: Our Client suffered with dementia and needed continuity of care, this was not happening and the clients daughter was close to making a decision to move her father into a Nursing Home
How did we satisfy our client’s needs;
One of our clients had been put off using an agency to provide Domiciliary Care for her father. The agency they had used had not listened or understood the needs of her Father and this had upset her father so much, that she was considering placing him in a Nursing Home.
Her father suffers from dementia and it was really important that he had continuity of reliable staff and was much more settled if he was seeing familiar faces.
Skills Direct Care overcame this by introducing her Father to the two carers that would look after him in advance of any agreement being put in place. One would be his main carer and the other a backup in times of sickness and holidays. A rota was also put in place and given to him and his daughter a month in advance , this reassured him of the continuity he needed.
From this service we were recommended by his daughter to 3 other Domiciliary clients. Positive word of mouth is the best publicity!!
